FAQ
Without a Mezzanine Deck, you can fit 24 pallets. With a Mezzanine Deck, that doubles to 48 pallets.
A Tautliner container is similar to a Side Door container, however the curtain provides a significant weight reduction compared to the steel side doors. This doesn't impact the Tare weight of the unit, which can carry more freight with reduced fuel costs (thanks to the lighter weight).
A Mezzanine Deck is a reinforced platform inside the container that can be adjusted by a forklift to a desired height. It enables the double stacking of pallets in the container, ensuring pallets below the deck are not damaged.
No, not all units have the deck as standard.
If this is critical for your operations, be sure to inform our team when discussing your requirements.
Rather than source standard containers used by shipping lines, SCF designs containers in house specifically for transport customers. This means that all SCF intermodal containers are manufactured with features that are relied upon by logistics, 3PL and transports companies across the country.
